My mission is to help improve lives, better our planet, and help respect our history.
Helping Improve Lives
Fundamentally, I like helping people and I especially love seeing people achieve their goals. I take great satisfaction in seeing a plan or project go from concept to reality. Let’s find a way to get to “yes - approved.” In most jurisdictions, by law, plans and projects must prioritize the health, safety, and welfare of the general public. If you believe that your plan or project can be both profitable and the impetus for positive change in a community, two goals that are not mutually exclusive, then call me up. You will find no one more dedicated to your cause.
Leaving Our Planet Better Than We Found It
Our planet is changing. The choices we make today, with regard to the natural environment, will have implications for generations to come. At a granular, day-to-day level, we have to build smarter. Plans and projects should contribute towards making communities more resilient and sustainable. Where and how we build matters. It is a fundamental lesson that my parents, and the military, taught me - we have a responsibility to leave this place better than we found it. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to complete this mission.
Respecting Our History
We need to respect our history. Not just one person’s history or one group’s history, but all of our collective history. From existing structures in the built environment to those artifacts buried from long ago, they have historic significance and the stories they collectively embody need to be preserved for future generations. The adaptive reuse of existing buildings and infrastructure should be prioritized to minimize environmental impacts and preserve those qualities in a community that drew people there in the first place.
